From Laptops to Vacuum Cleaners: 93 Telecommunications Devices and 61 Other Devices Will Soon Be Subject to Mandatory Technical Standards

In 2024, the Minister of Communication and Informatics introduced Regulation  No. 3 of 2024 (“Regulation 3/2024”), which specifically mandates that all telecommunications equipment and telecommunications devices (collectively referred to as “Telecommunications Devices”) meet applicable technical standards that apply to various types of Telecommunications Devices, as proven through certificates for Telecommunications Devices.[1] In this regard, it should be noted that various aspects relating to said certification of conformity with technical standards for Telecommunications Devices (“Certification”), as featured under Regulation 3/2024, were summarized in the following edition of Indonesian Legal Brief (“ILB”): “Technical Standards Certification Required for All Telecommunications Devices and Equipment by May 2024”.
