The Know-Your-User Principle for PPAT: Measures Introduced to Prevent and Eradicate Money Laundering

In an effort to prevent and eradicate the crimes of money laundering and terrorism funding, Land Deed Officials (Pejabat Pembuat Akta Tanah – “PPAT”) as reporting parties, are required to implement the principle of knowing the users of their services (“Users”). Accordingly, the Minister of Agrarian Affairs and Spatial Planning/Head of the National Land Agency has issued Regulation No. 21 of 2022 on the Implementation of the Know-Your-User Principle by PPAT (“Regulation 21/2022”), which has been in force since 28 December 2022.[1]
