In 2021, the Minister of Education, Culture, Research and Technology (“Minister”) issued Regulation No. 30 of 2021 on the Prevention and Management of Sexual Violence Within Higher Education Institutions (“Regulation 30/2021”). As its title suggests, Regulation 30/2021 sets out the obligations that should be met by various parties working at higher education institutions in relation to the prevention and mitigation of sexual violence.[1] It should be noted that various measures aimed at the prevention and mitigation of acts of sexual violence, as originally outlined under Regulation 30/2021, were previously summarized in the following edition of Indonesian Legal Brief (“ILB”): “Higher Education Institutions Required to Establish Task Forces for the Prevention and Mitigation of Sexual Violence”.
