Requirements for Securities Transactions Reporting by Participants Updated

PT Bursa Efek Indonesia’s ("BEI") Board of Directors has issued Decree No. KEP-00053/BEI/04-2024 on Participants ("Decree"), which has been in force since 30 April 2024. The Decree has introduced certain changes regarding arrangements of participants, as set out under the Appendix to the Decree.
However, it is important to note that prospective participants who submitted their applications before 30 April 2024 will be processed in accordance with the provisions and requirements that feature under Decree of the BEI Board of Directors No. KEP-00069/BEI/09-2019 on Participants, which has now been repealed and replaced.
The Decree states that the following requirements, among others, must be met in order to become participants: 1) Must have secured a business permit as a securities broker, securities underwriter or commercial bank, as well as approval from the Financial Services Authority (OJK) for commercial banks that engage in business activities as custodians; 2) Must have at least two participant users; 3) Must have an operational computer network that is connected to the recipients of securities transaction reports (penerima laporan transaksi efek – "PLTE"); 4) Must have an agreement that addresses the provision of a PLTE network; 5) Must stipulate the parties that may correspond with PLTE under certain conditions.
