Deciphering Corporate Annual SPT Reporting: A Guide for Responsible Taxpayers

Overview

The turn of the year marks the return of the tax season in Indonesia, which requires both individual and corporate taxpayers (collectively referred to as “Taxpayers”) to complete the mandatory disclosure of the entirety of their various financial activities, as carried out during the previous year, through the submission of Annual Tax Return (Surat Pemberitahuan Tahunan - “Annual SPT”) reports.

Currently, Indonesia’s tax system has adopted a self-assessment system, which means that taxpayers must assume responsibility for accurate registrations, calculations, settlements and reporting of their own tax liabilities to the tax authorities, as well as for the completion of timely payments.[1]
