Validation of Associations

After more than a century, the Government has finally regulated the procedures for validating associations as legal entities with the issue of Minister of Law and Human Rights (“Minister”) Regulation No. 6 of 2014 on Validation of Associations (“Regulation”).

In general, the Regulation sets out the procedures for notaries that have access to the Legal Entities Administration System (Sistem Administrasi Badan Hukum – “SABH”) for submitting to the Minister the following type of applications: 1) approval of proposed name for an association; and 2) validation of the association as a legal entity.
