Govt. Officially Details Carbon Trading Registration Procedures via SRUK: Non-Compliance May Now Trigger Administrative Sanctions

The Minister of Environment/Head of the Environmental Control Agency (“Minister”) has issued Regulation No. 10 of 2026 (“Regulation 10/2026”) on the Carbon Unit Registry System (Sistem Registri Unit Karbon – “SRUK”). Now serving as the implementing framework to Regulation of the President No. 110 of 2025 on the Organization of Carbon Economic Value (Nilai Ekonomi Karbon – “NEK”) Instruments and National Greenhouse Gas (“GHG”) Emissions Controls (“Regulation 110/2025”),[1] Regulation 10/2026 formally establishes the SRUK as a platform that will now provide and manage carbon unit data for NEK, support the achievement of Indonesia’s Nationally Determined Contribution (“NDC”) and prevent any double counting[2] occurring.[3]
