From Complaint to Investigation: New Ministerial Decree Maps How Energy and Mining Violations Are Classified, Investigated and Handled

The Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources (“Minister”) has stipulated the Decree of the Minister No. 267.K/HK.02/MEM.H/2026 on the Administrative and Technical Governance of Energy and Mineral Resources Law Enforcement (“Decree 267/2026”). Decree 267/2026 establishes six guidelines, covering the receipt of complaints, data collection and information exchange concerning the objects of enforcement, the further classification of legal problems, the conduct of intelligence, preventive measures and the settlement of legal problems, coordination with technical units and law enforcement authorities, the administration of case handling, and the handling of assets and evidence.[1]
