Following the enforcement of Regulation of the President No. 110 of 2025 (“Regulation 110/2025”)[1], which is Indonesia’s most recent framework to address the country’s Carbon Economic Value (Nilai Ekonomi Karbon – “NEK”) instruments, the Minister of Forestry (“Minister”) has issued Regulation No. 6 of 2026 on Procedures for Carbon Trading Through Greenhouse Gas (“GHG”) Emissions Offsetting Within the Forestry Sector (“Regulation 6/2026”), which has been in force since 13 April 2026.[2] Upon entering into force, Regulation 6/2026 officially repealed and replaced Regulation of the Minister of Environment and Forestry No. 7 of 2023 on Procedures for Carbon Trading Within the Forestry Sector (“Regulation 7/2023”).[3]
