Overview
Artificial intelligence (“AI”) technologies are rapidly becoming an integral part of everyday life. From biometric smartphone locks to movie recommendations on streaming platforms, AI has already seamlessly woven itself into many routine activities. Legal professionals and various aspects of legal work are no exception in this regard, and legal work has been affected by the rapid and widespread adoption of AI technologies.
Through the automation of various repetitive, time-consuming, manual tasks, lawyers are now using AI technologies to process and analyze large databases of legal documents, regulatory frameworks and court rulings more efficiently than manual reviews would ever allow for. Moreover, AI technologies may also help reduce the total number of hours spent undertaking reviews through the automatic scanning of contracts, as well as the identification of key terms and potential issues, and even the generation of draft legal documents.[1]
