New Domestic Wastewater Treatment Regime: Business Actors Required to Comply with Updated Quality and Technology Standards

In order to ensure that proper environmental protection and management protocols are in place, the Minister of Environment/Environmental Control Agency has issued Regulation No. 11 of 2025 (“Regulation 11/2025”) on Wastewater Quality Standards (“Quality Standards”) and Wastewater Treatment Technology Standards (“Technology Standards”) for Domestic Wastewater.[1] Upon its enforcement on 9 September 2025, Regulation 11/2025 simultaneously repealed and replaced the following previously existing frameworks:[2]
