In 2016, the Minister of Industry (“Minister”) introduced Regulation No. 18/M-IND/PER/3/2016 (“Regulation 18/2016”) on the Green Industry Awards (“Awards”). As its title suggests, Regulation 18/2016 outlined various requirements and procedures that applied to industrial companies (“Companies”) if they were looking to compete for Awards based on their levels of initiative and application of manufacturing processes that are in line with green industry principles and the sustainable utilization of resources.[1]
However, in an effort to ensure that the applicable procedures for the granting of said Awards are in line with current green industrial requirements and guidelines, the Minister has now decided to issue Regulation of the Minister of Industry No. 21 of 2025 (“Regulation 21/2025”), which bears the same title as Regulation 18/2016 and which has been in force since 16 May 2025.[2] As a consequence, the enforcement of Regulation 21/2025 has resulted in the repeal and replacement of Regulation 18/2016.[3]
