Fishing, Tourism and Research: One Year Set to Secure Conservation Permits

In order to bring government policy into line with the evolving designation of conservation areas in inland waters and to ensure that their utilization—whether for commercial or non-commercial purposes—is carried out sustainably, the Minister of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries (“Minister”) has issued Regulation No. 7 of 2025 on the Utilization of Conservation Areas (“Regulation 7/2025”), which has been in force since 10 March 2025.[1] This new regulation ultimately repeals and replaces Regulation of Minister No. 47/PERMEN-KP/2016 on the Utilization of Marine Conservation Areas (“Regulation 47/2016”).[2]
