In 2023, Bank Indonesia (“BI”) issued Regulation No. 7 of 2023 on Foreign-Exchange Export Proceeds (Devisa Hasil Ekspor – “DHE”) and Foreign-Exchange Import Payments (Devisa Pembayaran Impor – “DPI”) (“Regulation 7/2023”) which set out the various obligations of importers, exporters, banks and the Indonesian Export Financing Institution (Lembaga Pembiayaan Ekspor Indonesia – “LPEI”), as well as the supervision regime and suspended import-and-export service releases.
