- The official spokesperson for the Ministry of Transportation, Elba Damhuri (“Spokesperson”), has affirmed that the government is set to lower domestic flight prices across all Indonesian airports during the forthcoming 2024 Christmas and 2025 New Year holidays. In this regard, the Spokesperson has explained that this new policy is a direct directive of the president aimed at easing the financial burden on the general public through the lowering of ticket prices.
- In terms of the above-mentioned fare reduction policy, the Spokesperson has stated that the government has decided to lower domestic flight fares by 10% for the duration of the holiday season (excluding value-added tax charges). This tariff adjustment will apply for 16 days between 19 December 2024 and 3 January 2025 for any tickets that remain unsold during the holiday season.
- The Spokesperson has also stated that PT Pertamina Persero Group is set to support the above price reduction policy by reducing aviation fuel prices by 7.5% - 10% at 19 airports across the nation. Moreover, the Spokesperson has also affirmed that PT Angkasa Pura Indonesia and all of the airport service units under the Ministry of Transportation are also set to reduce the applicable tariffs for airline passenger services (Pelayanan Jasa Penumpang Pesawat Udara/PJP2U) and aircraft landing, placement and storage services (Pelayanan Jasa Pendaratan, Penempatan, dan Penyimpanan Pesawat Udara/PJP4U) by 50%.
