One Map 2.0 Policy Introduced to Encourage Public and Private Investments

The Minister of Agrarian Affairs and Spatial Planning/Head of the National Land Agency, Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono (AHY), has confirmed that the One Map 2.0 Policy ("One Map Policy") will soon be introduced in order to facilitate both government and private investments. The One Map Policy, as harmonized with spatial planning efforts, should ultimately result in greater legal certainty for entrepreneurs who are looking to invest capital within Indonesia.
The One Map Policy has been based on the framework of Regulation of the President No. 9 of 2016 and the creation of a strategic One Map that will be used as a single geospatial reference, standard, database and geoportal. Furthermore, the government has now decided to fast-track the implementation of the One Map Policy in order to accelerate the development of Nationally Strategic Projects and Special Economic Zones.
Indonesia’s President-Elect for the 2024 - 2029 period and current Minister of Defense, Prabowo Subianto, has affirmed that the One Map Policy will be linked to future development plans, including Nationally Strategic Projects and Special Economic Zones, and will contain accurate spatial data. Moreover, the One Map Policy is expected to boost efficiency and prevent overlapping spatial utilization, ultimately resulting in accelerated development processes. _(ANT)
