National Mineral and Coal Resources and Reserves Balance Sheet for 2023 Published

The Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources ("Minister") has published the applicable balance sheet for national mineral and coal resources and reserves for the 2023 period ("National Balance Sheet") through the issuance of Decree No. 132.K/GL.01/MEM.G/2024 ("Decree 132/2024"), which has been in force since 19 June 2024.
In essence, the National Balance Sheet has been published for use as a reference during the identification of characteristics, resources and reserves in relation to mineral and coal commodities, as well as a reference for the drafting of strategy/policies on mineral and coal resources.
Detailed comprehensively under Appendix I to Decree 132/2024, the National Balance Sheet breaks down as follows: 1) Metallic minerals, including radioactive materials: 29 commodities; 2) Non-metallic minerals: 57 commodities; 3) Coal and peat resources and reserves.
The National Balance Sheet, which is detailed comprehensively under Appendices I – II to Decree 132/2024, comprises the following documents: 1) National Balance Sheet table (for metallic mineral commodities [including radioactive mineral commodities], non-metallic minerals, coal and peat commodities); and 2) Distribution map of National Balance Sheet locations (i.e. comprising 11 forms of maps that detail the distribution of metals, non-metals, coal and peat commodities across the country).
