Four Companies Set to Support the Organization of Crypto-Asset Physical Market Trading

The Commodity Futures Trading Supervisory Agency (Badan Pengawas Perdagangan Berjangka Komoditi - "BAPPEBTI") has issued Circular No 64/BAPPEBTI/SE/04/2024 on the Affirmation of the Implementation of the Physical Market Trading of Crypto-Assets Through Futures Exchanges, which has been in force since 5 April 2024.
At its core, the Circular asserts that since 22 March 2024, PT Kliring Berjangka Indonesia has no longer been cooperating with PT Bursa Komoditi Nusantara regarding the organization of the crypto-asset physical market. As a result, the institutions that now support the organization of the crypto-asset physical market break down as follows: 1) PT Bursa Komoditi Nusantara; 2) PT Kliring Komoditi Nusantara, as the futures clearing agency for the guarantee and settlement of crypto-asset trading; 3) PT Tennet Depository Indonesia, as a manager of crypto-asset savings; and 4) PT Kustodian Koin Indonesia, as a manager of crypto-asset savings.
All parties that are already in possession of registration certificates as prospective physical traders in crypto-assets must immediately submit application letters in order to secure approval as physical traders in crypto-assets and must fulfill the prerequisite requirements in accordance with the relevant laws and regulations.
