Framework for the Granting of Calling Visas Simplified

In 2021, Indonesia’s Minister of Law and Human Rights ("Minister") introduced Regulation No. 33 of 2021 on Procedures for the Stipulation of Calling Visa ("Visas") Countries ("Countries"), Applications and the Granting of Visas to Citizens of Calling Visa Countries ("Citizens") ("Regulation 33/2021") which, as its title suggests, addresses various Calling Visa-related requirements, terms and procedures.

However, as this previous Visa framework required various further adjustments to be introduced in line with immigration law and community requirements, and also to improve determinations of eligible Countries, the Minister has now decided to revise the procedures and requirements for the granting of Visas through the Issuance of Regulation No. 2 of 2024, which bears the same title as Regulation 33/2021 ("Regulation 2/2024") and which has been in force since 15 January 2024.[1]
