First introduced in 2022, Law No. 12 of 2022 (“Law 12/2022”) on Crimes of Sexual Violence (Tindak Pidana Kekerasan Seksual – “TPKS) covers a broad range of subject matter relating to TPKS prevention (“Prevention”) and TPKS mitigation (e.g. reporting channels, medical assistance and/or legal aid for TPKS cases) (“Mitigation”)[1] mandates, including mandates that address the organization of training and education that address both Prevention and Mitigation.[2] In order to reflect this mandate, the government has now decided to issue Regulation of the President No. 9 of 2024 on the Organization of Training and Education for the Prevention and Mitigation of Crimes of Sexual Violence (“Regulation 9/2024”), which has been in force since 23 January 2024.[3]
