Requirements and Procedures for Emissions Testing Units Introduced

In an effort to ensure breathable air quality, as originally mandated under Regulation of the Government No. 22 of 2021, the Minister of Environment and Forestry (“Minister”) has introduced a new framework for the application of emissions quality standards (“Quality Standards”) for motor vehicles (“Vehicles”) that fall into certain categories through the issuance of Regulation No. 8 of 2023 (“Regulation 8/2023”). Regulation 8/2023 has been in force since 14 August 2023 and simultaneously repeals and replaces Regulation No. 05 of 2006 (“Regulation 05/2006”).[1]
