In order to ensure adequate safety and quality standards for all cosmetics products that are distributed within Indonesia, the National Agency of Drug and Food Control (Badan Pengawas Obat dan Makanan – “BPOM”) recently issued Regulation No. 17 of 2023 on Guidelines for Product Information Documents (“Regulation 17/2023”), which updates provisions that address requirements for Cosmetic Product Information Documents (Dokumen Informasi Produk – “DIP”). Previously, these same matters were specifically addressed under Regulation of the BPOM No. 14 of 2017[1], which was repealed and replaced by Regulation 17/2023 on the date of its promulgation, i.e. 2 August 2023.[2]
