Natural Resources Exporters Now Required to Deposit 30% of Their DHE into a Special Account for Three Months Minimum

The government recently issued Regulation of the Government No. 36 of 2023 on Export Earnings (Devisa Hasil Ekspor – “DHE”) from Businesses, Management and/or Processing Activities Relating to Natural Resources (“Regulation 36/2023”), which is aiming to provide a more comprehensive set of provisions capable of accommodating economic development and that better reflect Indonesia’s national financial system.[1]

Regulation 36/2023 is set to come into force on 1 August 2023 and will simultaneously repeal and replace Regulation of the Government No. 1 of 2019, which bore the same title (“Regulation 1/2019”).[2]
