Indonesia’s House of Representatives (Dewan Perwakilan Rakyat – “DPR”) finally passed the Bill on Health (“Health Bill”) on 11 July 2023 and, as a result, the new Health Bill is now set to become the official umbrella legal framework for healthcare in general across Indonesia.^[1] In the wake of the passing of the Health Bill, Indonesia’s Minister of Health, Budi Gunadi Sadikin (“Minister”), has stated that the forthcoming enforcement of the Health Bill is expected to represent a new beginning in terms of the transformation of Indonesia’s healthcare system, which also encompasses healthcare services that are offered in Indonesia’s frontier, outermost and lesser developed regions.^[2]
