- The Board of Directors of PT Kliring Penjaminan Efek Indonesia (“KPEI”) has decided to adjust the previously determined total maximum bank guarantee amount that can be received as collateral (“Collateral”) through the issuance of Circular of the Board of Directors of KPEI No. SE-007/DIR/KPEI/0523 (“Circular 7/2023”), which has been in force since 16 May 2023.
- In essence, the issuance of Circular 7/2023 has now increased the maximum value of Collateral for each clearing member from Rp. 100 billion to Rp. 500 billion. Circular 7/2023 also mandates that bank guarantees should be disbursed within four trading days of any receipt for a reimbursement claim being sent by the KPEI. Under the previous regulation, this disbursement window was set at five trading days.
- Furthermore, Circular 7/2023 also specifies the following maximum values for bank guarantee disbursements per clearing member based on the relevant Bank Group Based on Core Capital (Kelompok Bank berdasarkan Modal Inti – “KBMI”): 1) KBMI 4: Rp. 300 billion; 2) KBMI 3: Rp. 200 billion; and 3) KBMI 2: Rp. 100 billion. These KBMI-based maximum Collateral values did not feature under any previous regulations.
