Overview

Towards the end of 2022, the Indonesian Government took the public by surprise with the sudden issuance of Regulation of Government in Lieu of Law (Peraturan Pemerintah Pengganti Undang-Undang – “Perppu”) No. 2 of 2022 on Job Creation (“Perppu CK”).  As emphasized by Indonesia’s Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs, Perppu CK has been issued in order to implement the mandate to revise Law No. 11 of 2020 on Job Creation (“UUCK”) stipulated under Decision of the Constitutional Court No. 91/PUU-XVII/2020,[1] as well as to anticipate various economic and geopolitical challenges posed by current global dynamics.[2]
