Provisions on Social and Environmental Responsibility Programs Implemented by State-Owned Enterprises Amended

The Minister of BUMN (“Minister”) has issued Regulation No. PER-6/MBU/09/2022  (“Amendment”) in order to amend Regulation of the Minister No. PER-05/MBU/04/2021 on Social and Environmental Responsibility Programs for State-Owned Enterprises (“Regulation 5/2021”).[1] In essence, this Amendment has been issued in an effort to optimize the role of state-owned enterprises (badan usaha milik negara – “BUMN”) during the provision of guidance and assistance to micro- and small-scale businesses (usaha mikro dan kecil – “UMK”), while also accommodating the development of policy directions for the implementation of social and environmental responsibility (tanggung jawab sosial dan lingkungan – “TJSL”) programs by BUMN.[2]
