Provisions on the Determination and Offering of Oil-and-Gas Working Areas Updated

In an attempt to optimize business operations within oil-and-gas working areas and to provide an updated legal framework that addresses such matters, the Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources (“Minister”) has issued Regulation No. 35 of 2021 on Procedures for the Determination and Offering of Oil-and-Gas Working Areas (“Regulation 35/2021”).[1] Generally speaking, Regulation 35/2021 contains provisions that address the preparation and offering of conventional and non-conventional oil-and-gas working areas (“Working Areas”) through a consideration of the relevant technical difficulties, economic factors, risks and efficiency.[2]
