New Update Introduced on the Standardization and Application of SNI Within the Electrical Sector

As part of the regulatory reforms initiated through the introduction of Regulation of the Government No. 25 of 2021 on the Organization of Energy and Mineral Resources (“Regulation 25/2021”),[1] the Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources (“Minister”) has now updated the implementation of the Indonesian National Standard (Standar Nasional Indonesia – “SNI”) for electrical products through the issuance of Regulation No. 7 of 2021 on Standardization Within the Electrical Sector and the Application of the Indonesian National Standard and/or Safety Marks (“Regulation 7/2021”), which also simultaneously repeals and replaces the following regulations:[2]
