Employment and General Corporate Sector Provisions Addressed under New Law on Job Creation

On Monday, 2 November 2020, President Joko Widodo finally signed off on the Bill on Job Creation, officially turning it into Law No. 11 of 2020 on Job Creation (“Job Creation Law”).[1] This latest iteration of the Job Creation Law is 1,187 pages long and contains 11 clusters, 15 sections and 186 articles that between them ultimately revise a total of 77 prevailing laws.[2] This is quite different from the previous draft of the Job Creation Law submitted by the House of Representatives to the government, which contained 812 pages and revised a total of 76 prevailing laws.[3]
