Overview
In April 2018, the Government launched a roadmap that it calls “Making Indonesia 4.0”, which sets out a number of strategies formulated by the state in a bid to embrace Industry 4.0. During the roadmap’s preparation stages, the government solicited input and involvement from various stakeholders, including government agencies, industrial associations, businesses and technology providers, as well as research and education institutions.[1]
The government is optimistic that Industry 4.0 will result in millions of new jobs being created on the back of rapid economic growth. Consequently, the fruits of Industry 4.0 will not only be enjoyed by large corporations but also by small businesses and by the public in general.[2]
