New Provisions on Sponsorship for Health Workers

The Ministry of Health (“Ministry”) has issued Regulation No. 58 of 2016 on Sponsorship for Health Workers (“Regulation 58/2016”) in order to ensure that health workers to have greater opportunity to expand their knowledge and skills without their independence as regards the provision of health services ultimately being affected.[1]
 
In order to implement this objective, Regulation 58/2016 sets out a number of guidelines which encompass support for health workers,as provided by pharmaceutical, medical-device and laboratory-equipment companies, and/or other companies (“Sponsorship”).[2] These guidelines address the following matters:
