House Passes Bill on Construction Services

On 15 December 2016, the House of Representatives (“House”) passed the Bill (“Bill”) on Construction Services, which replaces the now obsolete Law No. 18 of 1999 on Construction Services (“Law 18/1999”).

In essence, the Bill aims to set out updated guidelines for the organization of construction services and addresses the following matters:

1.	The responsibilities and authorities of government;
2.	Construction-service businesses;
3.	The organization of construction services;
4.	Security, safety, health and the sustainability of construction;
5.	Construction workers;
6.	The development of construction services;
7.	Information systems for construction services;
8.	Dispute settlement;
9.	Sanctions, transitional and closing provisions.
