Govt Regulates Work Accident and Death Insurance Programs

The Government Regulation No. 44 of 2015 on Work Accident and Death Insurance Benefit Program (“2015 Regulation”) has been issued to redefine labor social security under the Social Security Agency for Labor (“BPJS Labor”).

The 2015 Regulation sets out the criteria for participants eligible for the work accident and death insurance program (“Insurance Program”), including procedures for employers to register their workers to the Insurance Program. The 2015 Regulation also stipulates the method for paying Insurance Program premium by the employers and the amount of Insurance Program payable to workers.
