New Provisions on Telecommunication Services License

The Minister of Communication and Information Technology (“Minister”) has issued Regulation No. 8 of 2015 (“Fourth Amendment”), to amend Ministry of Transportation Decree No. KM. 21 of 2001 on Telecommunication Providers (“2001 Decree”).

There are two main changes under the Fourth Amendment. The first one is the delegation to issue principle licenses and telecommunication services licenses to the Director General of Post and Telecommunications (“Director General”) - previously under the authority of the Minister. The second is changes to the procedures for telecommunication service providers to obtain these licenses.
