New Provisions on Managing and Dumping Hazardous and Toxic Waste

Government Regulation No. 101 of 2014 on Management of Toxic and Hazardous Waste Substances (“2014 Regulation”) has been issued.

In general, the 2014 Regulation regulates the management and disposal procedures for toxic and hazardous waste substances (“hazardous waste”), covering:

a.	Method of identifying, reducing, storing, collecting, transporting, utilizing, processing, and hoarding hazardous wastes;
b.	Procedures for dumping hazardous wastes into the open sea or land;
c.	Risk mitigation and emergency responses to address environmental pollution caused by hazardous waste; and
d.	Sanctions for non-compliance.
