Jakarta 2012 Minimum Wage

Special Jakarta Area Governor Regulation No.117 of 2011 on the 2012 Provincial Minimum Wage (“Regulation”) has been issued to adjust to current labor and economic conditions. The Regulation contains six articles.

According to Article 1, Jakarta’s 2012 Minimum Wage (Upah Minimum Provinsi– UMP) is Rp.1.529.150 (one million five hundred twenty nine thousand one hundred fifty rupiah) per month. Jakarta’s 2011 Minimum Wage, pursuant to Regulation No.196 of 2010, was set at Rp.1.290.000 (one million two hundred ninety thousand rupiah).

Pursuant to Article 2, employers in Jakarta are forbidden from paying employees wages that are lower than the 2012 UMP.
