Officially launched on 6 January 2025, the Free Nutritious Meal (Makan Bergizi Gratis – “MBG”) Program is currently serving as one of Indonesia’s strategic initiatives that is addressing persistent national challenges, while supporting the development of high-quality human resources in line with Indonesia’s 2045 Golden Vision. Spearheaded and organized by the National Nutrition Agency (Badan Gizi Nasional – “BGN”), this program seeks to reverse declining educational outcomes and improve school attendance by ensuring that no Indonesian child goes hungry.[1]
