New Details on Semesterly Periodic Inspections for Halal-Certified Businesses Introduced: From Entry Meetings to Field Inspections

In an effort to ensure that the supervision of halal product guarantees (Jaminan Produk Halal – “JPH”) is implemented effectively and efficiently, as well as in response to the mandate introduced under Regulation of the Government No. 42 of 2024 on the Organization of Halal Product Guarantees (“Regulation 42/2024”),[1] the Halal Product Guarantee Agency (Badan Penyelenggara Jaminan Produk Halal – “BPJPH”) has decided to release a new set of guidelines that address the aforementioned JPH supervision (“Supervision”) through the issuance of Decree of the Head of BPJPH No. 170 of 2025 (“Decree 170/2025”), which has been in force since 31 July 2025.[2]
