Halal Certification Procedure Updated: New Post-Paid Payment Mechanism under Government Facilitators and Facilitation Contracts Simplified

In 2024, the Halal Product Guarantee Agency (Badan Penyelenggara Jaminan Produk Halal – “BPJPH”) introduced Decree of the Head of BPJPH No. 80 of 2024 (“Decree 80/2024”) on Standard Operating Procedures for Halal Certificate Application Services (“SOP”), as well as a set of Guidelines on the Implementation of Halal Certification Facilitation for Micro- and Small-Scale Business Actors (“Guidelines”). Outlined comprehensively under the Appendices to Decree 80/2024,[1] the aformentioned SOP and Guidelines have been serving as a reference during the implementation of the halal certification process and related facilitation.[2]
