No More Hidden Ties in the Courtroom: Supreme Court Sets Guidelines for Disclosures of Personal and Financial Associations by Judges

With the overall goal of ensuring that attempts to resolve cases through the Supreme Court (Mahkamah Agung – “MA”) proceed impartially, the MA has decided to take steps to eliminate any conflicts of interest that may emerge among judges through the issuance of Decree of the Head of the MA No. 15/KMA/SK.HK2/II/2025 (“Decree 15/2025”) on Guidelines for the Prevention and Management of Conflicts of Interest During Case Resolutions at the MA (“Guidelines”), which has been in force since February 2025.[1]
