- The President Director of PT Bursa Efek Indonesia (“BEI”), Iman Rachman (“President Director”), has affirmed that BEI’s Annual Work Plan and Budget (Rencana Kerja dan Anggaran Tahunan) for 2025 will focus on the deepening of markets via the introduction of new products and services, including through the development of a dedicated Work Plan (Rencana Kerja – “RK”) that will be aimed at the improvement of the following aspects: 1) Trading liquidity; 2) Investor protection; 3) Provision of data services to customers; and 4) Technological infrastructure.
- In terms of the above-mentioned 2025 targets, the President Director has affirmed that a total of 31 RK have been drafted and broadly address the following matters: 1) The Financial Services Authority (Otoritas Jasa Keuangan/OJK); 2) Self-Regulatory Organization (SRO); 3) Master plan derivatives; and 4) Continuous improvements.
- In terms of improvements to the existing technological infrastructure, the President Director has explained that the BEI is currently developing updates for trading and affected systems. These updates will aim to provide reliable and optimum systems that are capable of accommodating developments within the capital market. In addition to being part of a routine six-year cycle, said technological developments are required in order to support the low latency and capacities of any systems that are utilized during the organization of capital market trading activities.
- The President Director is also emphasizing that the BEI will continue to carry out its routine day-to-day activities, including the development of existing and prospective listed companies and members of the stock exchange, as well as the development of the capital market itself as a part of efforts to increase the number of capital market investor activities. Said developments will be carried out through a series of activities, which may include dissemination events and one-on-one meetings and workshops, as well as both online and offline workshops. (ANT)
