Govt. Sets Crude Oil Price for September 2024

In response to the mandate set under Regulation of the Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources No. 29 of 2021, the Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources (“Minister”) has now released a Crude Oil Price framework that will be applicable throughout September 2024 through the issuance of Decree No. 353.K/MG.03/DJM/2024 (“Decree 353.K/MG.03/DJM/2024”), which came into force on 1 October 2024.
The crude oil prices referred to above include: 1) Prices for main crude oil and 2) Prices for other types of crude oil, which comprise: permanent crude oil prices and temporary crude oil prices, with an average price of US$ 72.54/barrel being set.
The official list of prices for the different types of crude oil is comprehensively set out under the Annex to Decision 353.K/MG.03/DJM/2024 and includes: 1) Main types of crude oil: six types and 2) Other types of crude oil, which comprise: Permanent crude oil: 52 types, and temporary crude oil: 45 types.
