Late THR Payments to Employees to Result in Fines of up to 5% of Total THR

The Ministry of Manpower ("Ministry") has reminded companies that fines will be imposed in relation to any late payments of the religious holiday allowance (Tunjangan Hari Raya – "THR"). The fines that will be imposed in relation to this violation have been set at up to 5% of total THR and will either be imposed on an individual basis or calculated for each unpaid employee.
THR payments must be completed at least seven days prior to the Eid al-Fitr holiday based on Circular of the Minister of Manpower No. M/2/HK.04/III/2024 on the Implementation of the Granting of Religious THR for 2024 to Employees/Laborers in Companies.
A huge promotional campaign has been rolled out by the Ministry across various channels that include social media and mass media. The Ministry is also coordinating with industrial relations mediators, manpower supervisors and manpower offices across Indonesia regarding the implementation of THR payments. _(ANT)
