HS Codes for Minimum Energy Performance Standards for Refrigerators Adjusted

The Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources ("Minister") has updated the framework for minimum energy performance standards and energy saving labels (label hemat tanda energi) for refrigerator energy utilization equipment (collectively referred to as "Minimum Energy Performance Standards and Labeling Requirements for Refrigerators"), as originally addressed under the Decree of the Minister No. 113.K/EK.07/DJE/2021 ("Decree 113/2021"), through the issuance of Decree No. 8.K/EK.07/DJE/2024, which is an amendment to Decree 113/2021 and which is set to come into force on 12 May 2024.
At its core, the Amendment introduces certain revisions to the Minimum Energy Performance Standards and Labeling Requirementsfor Refrigerators, as comprehensively elaborated upon in the Appendix to the Amendment.
The Harmonized Codes ("HS") for refrigerators with maximum capacities of 300 liters and 250 volts have now been adjusted as follows: 1) HS 8418.10.31; 2) HS 8418.10.32; 3) HS 8418.21.10; 4) HS 8418.21.90; and 5) HS 8418.29.00, or their amendments.
