Provisions on Entries and Releases of Consignment Goods to and from Free Areas Applicable from March 2024

As originally mandated under Regulation of the Minister of Finance No. 34/PMK.04/2021 on Entries and Releases of Goods to and from Areas Stipulated as Free Trade Areas and Free Ports (“Regulation 34/2021”),[1] the Director-General of Customs and Excise  (“Director-General”) has now issued Regulation No. PER-25/BC/2023 (“Regulation 25/2023”), which specifically addresses entries and releases of goods from areas that are stipulated as Free Trade Areas and Free Ports (collectively referred to as “Free Areas”) through consignment goods. This new framework is set to come into force on 22 March 2024.
