Guidelines for the Commemoration of National K3 Month 2024 Introduced: Three Forms of Activities Set to Be Implemented

The Minister of Manpower has introduced a set of guidelines that specifically address the implementation of the 2024 National Occupational Health and Safety Standards (Keselamatan dan Kesehatan Kerja – "K3") month-long commemoration ("2024 K3 Month") that will run from 12 January until 12 February 2024 across the nation on a continuous and sustainable basis through the issuance of Decree No. 244 of 2023 ("Decree 244/2023"), which has been in force since 4 December 2023.
The guidelines for the implementation of the 2024 K3 Month ("Guidelines") themselves are comprehensively outlined under the Appendix to Decree 244/2023, which will now serve as a reference for use by various parties (e.g. government institutions, educational institutions, employers, labor unions and so forth) in order to ensure the improvement of and compliance with various K3 aspects across different business sectors.
Pursuant to the above Guidelines, relevant parties may establish dedicated committees for the implementation of 2024 K3 Month. Moreover, during the commemoration period, a number of activities will be implemented, including the following: 1) Strategic activities (e.g. planning, awards, the establishment of committees and so forth); 2) Promotional activities (e.g. advertising, training, campaigns and so forth); and 3) Implementing activities (e.g. inspections, guidance, audits and so forth).
It should also be noted that the implementation of the various 2024 K3 Month activities should be reported by companies to their regional manpower offices.
