2024 UMP Set at Rp. 5,067,381 for DKI Jakarta

The Regional Government of DKI Jakarta has officially stipulated a provincial minimum wage (upah minimum provinsi – "UMP") for 2024 through the issuance of Decree of the Governor of DKI Jakarta No. 818 of 2023, which has been in force since 21 November 2023.
The Decree stipulates a monthly UMP of Rp. 5,067,381, which will come into force on 1 January 2024. The new UMP will apply to employees who have been working for periods of less than one year.
Business actors will now be required to prepare and apply new wage scale structures within their companies by taking into consideration their respective capacities and productivities during the formulation of new wage guidelines for workers. Business actors are prohibited from paying wages that are lower than the stipulated UMP for 2024 and any non-compliance in this regard may result in companies being subject to the imposition of certain sanctions, as set out under Law No. 6 of 2023 on the Stipulation of Regulation of the Government in Lieu of Law No. 2 of 2022 on Job Creation as Law and Regulation of the Government No. 51 of 2023 on the Amendment to Regulation of the Government No. 36 of 2021 on Wages.
