BPOM to Regulate Monitoring Mechanism for Unwanted Cosmetics Occurrences: Public Feedback Submission Now Open

  • The National Drugs and Foods Supervisory Agency (Badan Pengawas Obat dan Makanan – “BPOM”) is currently accepting public feedback in relation to the Draft Regulation on the Implementation of the Monitoring Mechanism for Unwanted Cosmetics Occurrences (“Draft Regulation”) until a deadline of 17 November 2023. Public feedback for the Draft Regulation may be submitted to: standar-otskk.pom.go.id or [email protected].
  • The Draft Regulation states that holders of official Notification Numbers must guarantee that all cosmetics products that they distribute satisfy various requirements that relate to safety, benefits, quality, labeling and claims. Moreover, said holders must also implement a monitoring mechanism in relation to said cosmetics products in order to identify any potential unwanted occurrences.
  • Unwanted occurrences are categorized into serious and non-serious occurrences and must be reported to the Head of the BPOM in line with the following timeframes:
