SKK Migas Promotes New DHE Deposit Requirements

The Special Task Force for Upstream Oil and Gas (Satuan Kerja Khusus Pelaksanaan Kegiatan Usaha Minyak dan Gas Bumi – “SKK Migas”) is currently promoting Regulation of the Government No. 36 of 2023 on Foreign Exchange Export Proceeds from Business Management and/or the Processing of Natural Resources (“Regulation 36/2023”).
This socialization effort has been specifically organized to address matters that relate to cooperation-contract contractors (Kontraktor Kontrak Kerjasama – “KKKS”). In this regard, an SKK Migas representative recently stated that the upstream oil and gas industry needs to improve the implementation of policies and regulations that are issued by the government, including Regulation 36/2023 along with its various implementing regulations. SKK Migas has affirmed its commitment to working hand in hand with business actors operating within the designated sectors in order to support the development, improvement and overall resilience of the national economy through the implementation of Regulation 36/2023.
Follow-up measures to the socialization effort are also set to be implemented in relation to the relevant stakeholders, including Bank Indonesia, and will involve communications and deeper discussions that specifically address the implementation of Regulation 36/2023 within the upstream oil-and-gas sector.
